'Thank you Miss Pang for teaching us.' 'Thank you for sharing your experience.' 'Thank you for helping us order the lunch.' ?

Despite initially being shy and not understanding how respect is linked to academic, our Tung Wah buddies would be extra attracted ? when Miss Pang shares her personal experiences about goodness and manners, bringing life and positivity to the learning environment. ?'Good morning' 'please' and 'thank you' are not too much to ask. Coming to the end of the short course, our Tung Wah buddies improved academically. But they would always remember the magic of appreciation and respect, giving them a healthy mindset and keeping them motivated.?

Here are some feedback from our Tung Wah buddies and moments we like to share. Please enjoy!

Lesson learnt behind getting 10A's in IGCSEs:

Irene Cheung, aged 16, used to be mind wandering. Miss Pang used Pang's rules and patiently guided her by teaching her steps to help with IGCSEs: 1.Listen, 2. Digest, 3.Think and 4.Do it! The force you exert has to be efficient and effective to avoid unnecessary drilling and memorising. Lesson learnt: cultivate a positive mindset and use the rules!

We are exceedingly proud to announce that LPIP has produced 7 scholars and 13 scholarships in the years 2016-2017.

Since 26 March 2017, Miss Pang has been teaching students in Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Wong Fung Ling College for more than 2 months.

Since 26 March 2017, Miss Pang has been teaching students in Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Wong Fung Ling College for more than 2 months. Our Tung Wah buddies have improved significantly on various areas in English such as oral, writing and grammar throughout the course. Our Tung Wah buddies have received a confidence boost from Miss Pang that helped them push forward. Throughout the program, Miss Pang shared on stress management, and helped them cultivate a healthy mindset. She has given them a lot of insight on positive learning and the words of encouragement (放膽做)gave them motivation for preparing the exams. Miss Pang and the LPIP mentors have put together this video especially for the Tung Wah buddies to encourage them for their final exam. Please enjoy and share the positivity!

Great news for 11-year old Charles Lai from St Louis School, who has passed the interview for Wah Yan College Hong Kong, reaching milestone in personal growth! ????

Charles has stepped out of his comfort zone despite being shy. It is the courage and confidence he manifested to deliver words eloquently that helped him ace this interview. ???
Especially for transitioning from primary to secondary school, being more mature and independent in thinking and respecting others is the display of personal growth. He has definitely gained more experience through this. This is a lesson learnt for life!
Thanks to the training by Miss Pang, his effort paid off. It is rewarding to see his growth in a matter of days! ???

Let us all learn from Charles's diligence and wish him good luck for the next school year in secondary school! ???

Big congratulations to 5 years old Timothy Fung!

Big congratulations to 5 years old Timothy Fung!?? After intense training on reading, writing, oral and social skills, as well as being instilled with a 'can do?' attitude by Miss Pang, he stayed positive and driven. At last, he successfully got into Quarry Bay school for Year 2!?? Good job to Timothy and thank you Miss Pang!

Hello?. Please?. Thank you?.

Having good manners should be an ongoing culture in society. While Jennifer, Timothy and Dominic are enjoying their meal, they don't leave manners under the table.? They were later awarded with delicious deserts by the kind manager because of their good manners.? Let's spread the manner culture together, making a positive and respectful society.?

Great news! Turns out that 8-year old Kiara has received the " Best In English In The Year" award!?

Miss Pang has guided Kiara to be driven by the 'can do?' attitude, working hard with her academic. Also, she stayed humble, putting the achievement at the back of her mind and kept moving forward. What a huge improvement! ? Stay grounded and positive!

5 year old Liam Chan is trying his best to apply Miss Pang's teaching into action.?

Though he might stumble at times and make mistakes?, but he listens and appreciates Miss Pang's teaching. His 'can do?' attitude helps him absorb knowledge quickly. His performance in class is admirable and we must learn from his spirit of never giving up.?

A huge congratulations to Allison Chan,

Kiangsu & Chekiang Primary School Primary 3!

She is the champion of the 2016 68th Hong Kong Speech Festival, beating 52 schools, wow! Thank you to Miss Lisa for teaching her. Practice makes perfect, keep it up!

“Passionate about teaching, Ms. Lisa has been an excellent mentor throughout my college years by encouraging me to explore my potential in reading, writing and speaking, leading to consistent A grades in English papers. Inspiring me to analyse situations from various viewpoints, Ms. Lisa enhanced my lateral thinking through unique teaching methods which helped me study science subjects further at Brighton. “Ms. Lisa is definitely a good teacher. She teaches me different aspects of English, writing, thinking critically and debate. These techniques are very important in my daily life. With Ms. Lisa’s guidance there has been a significant improvement in my English.” - Eric

Anabelle Lee Lok Yi, 18

  • Achieved 5* in DSE
  • Now studying at Chinese University of Hong Kong

We were lucky to have Anabelle as a student for ten years. During that time, she matured into a well-rounded, compassionate and highly motivated individual. She got 5* in the DSE and was awarded a place at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

“Ms. Lisa has been a respectful teacher and an inspiring friend and life mentor to me for the past 10 years. Conversations with her are fun! We might look at trivial everyday topics in lessons, yet she always finds a way to inspire debates on controversial moral issues and to view their underlying values from numerous perspectives. This kind of training reinforces the significance of integrity in our minds and broadens our horizons, ensuring we’re not trapped in a nutshell. She also demonstrates acute observation and compassion as a selfless counsellor to her troubled students. I can’t express my gratitude enough, other than giving her credit for motivating my studies and stimulating my thinking. It marked the greatest turning point in my 18 years.” - Anabelle

Irene Cheung, 12

  • Achieved a grade A in English
  • Awarded a scholarship to St. Paul’s Convent School

Irene joined Lisa Pang International Program as a P. 6 student. Although she was very bright, Irene was struggling with English composition. She felt she couldn’t create pieces with depth. Work on problem solving, critical thinking and the value of empathy soon broadened her thinking. Her C grade turned into an A grade and she was offered a scholarship to St. Paul’s Convent School.

“I started to go to Ms. Lisa’s lessons when I was in P.6. I had trouble constructing a composition with depth. Ms. Lisa taught us problem solving, angling, critical thinking, and most importantly, good moral values through sharing her own experiences. The most significant change after attending Ms. Lisa’s lessons is definitely in my behaviour. Ms. Lisa helped me to develop empathy and to understand people. I have learnt to stand in other people’s shoes. Also, I now take the initiative to help people.” - Irene

Kody Lam, 18

  • Now studying medicine at Hong Kong University

Kody came to Lisa Pang International Program right after his DSEs, hoping to improve his interview technique and secure a place at a leading university. Kody aced his interview and was offered a place at Hong Kong University to study medicine.

“I started off quite timid and shy, never knowing how to express my thoughts and ideas. I had trouble with organising my thoughts too. Ms. Lisa gave me some intensive training through debate sessions which focused on developing my critical thinking skills, and mock interviews which trained my communication skills. Aside from interview skills, Ms. Lisa also gave me lessons in life, teaching me to be more proactive and empathetic in my thinking.” - Kody

Sharon Law, 16

  • Awarded a scholarship to Roedean Independent School, Sussex, UK

Sharon joined Lisa Pang International Program hoping to polish her English skills, particularly her writing, before attending sixth form in the UK. Her English quickly improved alongside her general knowledge and her ability to think on her feet. Sharon was offered a scholarship at the renowned Roedean Independent School.

“Ms. Lisa has enlightened me in various areas, especially critical thinking and writing skills. Most importantly, I learnt to be proactive and seek answers when a challenge presents itself. My critical thinking has been enhanced through debating in Ms. Lisa’s lessons. The topic for debate, which was usually an argumentative issue in the news, was given to us on the spot therefore it was essential to read the newspaper daily. The focus was on problem-based learning as we tried to find solutions for open-ended problems in teams. After the debate, we would evaluate our performance and identify aspects to improve on next time. Overall, it helped me to keep abreast of current issues. I also learnt to develop a unique perspective through looking at an argument from different angles.” - Sharon

Nelson Tsang, 15

  • Achieved a grade A in Oral English
  • Now studying at Harrow International School, Hong Kong

Nelson has been a student at Lisa Pang International Program since he was in Primary 4 at St. Joseph’s Primary School. When he first joined, he was struggling with reading and writing and his confidence was low. Nelson has grown considerably since then. He achieved an A grade in his oral exam and is now studying at Harrow International. His growing confidence has also helped him in his personal life and he is now much more settled and able to focus on his studies.

“In Primary School I was unable to pass my English exams. I had no confidence and I wasn't able to read. Ms. Lisa built my confidence throughout the time she taught me. As well as teaching me writing, she spent a lot of time developing my speaking skills. Soon I learnt to speak with a British accent. When I went to Harrow International School HK, at first I wasn't able to trust or get on well with classmates. Although it was a personal issue, Ms. Lisa was still willing to listen and show concern, teaching me lateral thinking, enabling me to have a happier school life. Ms. Lisa is a caring person who teaches me foresight and empathy. She has brought warmth and security to my life. Even though I board in Harrow, she keeps tabs on me to make sure I am revising and that I am on the right track.” - Nelson

Ma Ho Yan Mick, 20

  • Now in his third year at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Mick was a student at Lisa Pang International Program for seven years, through two important transitions: from primary to secondary school and from secondary school to university. The focus in class was not only on his English skills but also on developing his critical thinking, improving his study skills and easing his way through the two transitions. Mick is now excelling as a third year student at HKUST.

“If it wasn't for Ms. Lisa, who guided me all the way, I would not have been in a Band 1 high school or one of the top universities in HK. Ms. Lisa has played many roles in my life: a teacher, mentor, mental therapist and a friend.
A teacher: she has a very unique teaching style, focusing not only on English Language but critical thinking through diverse forms of writing and debates. A mentor: I gained a lot of insight when Ms. Lisa shared her past experience in the commercial world. One thing I learned is the importance of a strong moral mindset. Ms. Lisa has always been generous with advice on careers and general life matters too. A mental therapist: Ms. Lisa is very good at reading her students. She understands me well enough not only to customise her teaching for me, but also to offer moral support and settle my anxiety in difficult times. A friend: going to Ms. Lisa's class was similar to visiting a friend on a regular basis, keeping each other updated on our lives and funny encounters. Even now we are still in contact. Ms. Lisa definitely tops my list of role models.” - Mick
